Sustainable practices observed on the island include: energy and water conservation, eco-friendly transportation like electric jeepneys and horseback trails; the presence of organic gardens and vegetable farms where you can pick fresh produce for your meals; and the preservation of the surrounding oceans for fishing. The island is home to a treasure of flora and fauna like the Yellow Oriole, the Philippine Scops Owl, the Frangipani, and the Bougainvillea Flower, among others.
